This week, we’re excited to introduce you to someone whose job it is to create these houses that become homes — say hello to Steve Paul, our incredible director of construction!
With someone like Steve on your side, you can be rest assured that you’re getting the greatest home possible. Take a behind-the-scenes look at his remarkable job, what he loves about working with DeLuca Homes, and what he enjoys outside of work:
Tell us about your background, what you do, and how long have you been with DeLuca Homes.
I grew up in the construction industry with my father being a painter and cabinet maker. I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands, and being outdoors and on the move. I am a carpenter by trade and I have been with DeLuca Homes a little over 35 years in various capacities.
What drew you to want to work for DeLuca Homes?
I made the move to DeLuca Homes for the opportunity to advance to management level, as well as the family atmosphere (which was a very important aspect of my job search).
What is your favorite part about your job?
My favorite part is the day of closing and getting to see the joy and satisfaction from a buyer who is ready to move into their new home. A home is a family’s biggest investment, and where so many memories will be made, so all of us at DeLuca treat every home like it’s our own.
What is your favorite part of the construction process?
My favorite part of the construction process is the completion of the framing stage, where I can see that a buyer has a future home in the works.
What makes building a DeLuca home different or better than any other home?
Building a DeLuca home is a team effort that includes a very talented design team, an energetic and qualified sales team, and an experienced construction group. All “parts” of the process strive for perfection.
Where did you grow up? Tell us about your family!
I grew up in Holland, PA, graduated from Council Rock HS, and went to Bucks County Community College before attending Associated Builders & Contractors Trade School. I am married to my wife, Christina, and we have two children, Michelle and Steve.
How do you spend your free time? What do you do to relax?
We’re heavily involved in soccer programs, and love to ski in the winter, and enjoy our family’s beach house in Ocean City, MD in the summer. I also love to travel. We have been to many places, from beaches in Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas, to trips to Germany, Italy, and the Czech Republic.
